Field Hockey is one of the oldest sports in the world. The first signs of field hockey amazingly date back to 1000bc where it is said that hockey was played in Ethiopia. Also around 4000 years ago hockey

There is also evidence of the Greeks playing it along with the Romans, the Aztecs and many other South American tribes and countries. England is now renowned as one of the biggest countries in the world of field hockey. Hockey came to England during the 1700's and has expanded into one of the most popular sports in the world.

 
    Field hockey was introduced into the Olympics in the London games in 1908. At first it was only a males event. But hockey was the dropped from 1912 Stockholm Olympics and wasn't reinstated as a Olympic sport till the 1924 Antwerp games. Hockey has been a regular sport in the Olympics ever since. Hockey is a growing sport in the world which is over 4000 years old.
